Relaxed Outdoor & At-Home Family Photography in Dublin

Nobody's best self comes out when they're being told to stand still and smile. I photograph families the way they actually are - moving around, a little wild and distracted, affectionate, and everything else in between.

Your photoshoot can happen at home or outdoors.

How I work

I don’t prioritise the highly posed portraits. I'm looking for the way your kids runs toward you for a big hug. Or maybe how everyone laughs at a silly joke. These are the small moments that belong to your every day.

I'll guide you into good light and give you something to do. Then I'll step back and get the shots!

Your location

Sessions take place wherever makes sense for your family. Maybe your back garden, a favourite beach, a forest walk you do every Sunday. I travel across Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Meath, and Louth. If a place means something to you, it'll mean something in the photographs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if it rains on the day of our shoot?

Overcast days are actually ideal for outdoor family sessions. The cloud cover acts as natural soft light and means nobody's squinting. If it's genuinely lashing, we'll reschedule to the next available date at no extra cost. A bit of grey sky never hurt a photograph. See my blog post on this topic

My children are high energy and won’t sit still. Is that okay?

Good. High-energy children make for better photographs than children who are trying to behave. I don't ask kids to sit still or look at the camera. We play, we move, we explore — and I photograph what happens.

Do you have location recommendations in Dublin or Wicklow?

Yes — I have favourite spots across Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Meath, and Louth, from beaches and forests to open parks. If you have somewhere that already means something to your family, even better. We'll sort the location during our pre-shoot chat.

What should we wear for an outdoor session?

Wear clothes you can actually move about in. Think clothes that are ideal for sitting on grass in, running around, crouching down. Earth tones and textures photograph well outdoors. Avoid large logos or anything neon, as these pull focus away from faces. Coordinated works better than matching.
