Those first days with a new baby are a blur. You're exhausted and overwhelmed and completely in love, all at the same time. My job is to document that exactly as it is, without cleaning it up or staging it into something it isn't.
I'm Aoife, a documentary newborn photographer based in Dublin. I work entirely in your home, at your baby's pace. There's no studio to travel to, no unfamiliar environment, no schedule to stick to. If your baby needs to feed, sleep, or just be held for twenty minutes, we pause. Everything follows their lead, not mine. I bring everything I need - including a professional beanbag for safe, comfortable positioning - and I'll find the best natural light in your home when I arrive. You don't need to tidy up or prepare anything. I've worked in every kind of home, in every kind of light, and I always find what I need.
What a newborn session looks like
Sessions are typically one to one and a half hours, though I never watch the clock. I work quietly and unobtrusively, capturing the tiny details. That might be the curl of a fist, the weight of a sleeping baby on your chest, the way your toddler looks at their new sibling. I photograph your whole family, not just your baby. Brothers, sisters, grandparents, and yes the dog (or cat!) too.
As a mother of three, I understand how fast these weeks go. I also understand how depleted you feel in the middle of them, and how much you still want to remember every bit of it. I don't add to this chaos. I work inside it.
Newborn photography packages
Sessions start at €450 for a digital gallery of 20 images. The Heirloom Collection at €650 is the option most clients choose - it includes a full gallery of 40+ images and a framed fine-art print ready to hang. For those who want a physical album to pass down, the Legacy Collection at €750 includes a luxury handmade 12×10 album in a presentation box.
A deposit secures your date. And if you missed the two week window for a newborn photoshoot, don’t worry. Every stage of your baby's early life is worth documenting.

Covering Dublin and surrounding counties
I'm based in Terenure and cover all areas of Dublin as a priority. I also travel to Wicklow, Kildare, Meath, and Louth. Travel fees may apply outside the Dublin region. Just ask and I'll confirm for your area.
