Relaxed First Holy Communion Photography in Dublin

Communion day moves fast. There's the church, the family, the outfit, the lunch — and somewhere in the middle of all of it you want photographs that actually capture how the day felt.

I keep it short, relaxed, and completely out of the way of your celebration.

Mini sessions

Communion mini sessions are designed around the day, not the other way around. A focused, unhurried session - long enough to capture what matters, short enough that nobody's pulled away from the family for long.

Where I work

I'm based in Terenure and cover South Dublin as a priority — Dublin 2, 4, 6, 6W, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 24. I also travel across the wider Dublin region and surrounding counties. If you're outside these areas, get in touch and I'll confirm availability and any travel costs.

Church, park, or home

Sessions can take place outside the church, at a local park, or at home - wherever suits the flow of your day. The focus is on the communion child, with immediate family, grandparents, and godparents all welcome. For group shots, I find six adults is the sweet spot for keeping things relaxed and natural.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a Communion Mini Session take?

Thirty minutes. That's enough time for portraits of the communion child, family shots, and a few natural moments - without anyone getting restless or the outfit getting ruined. Short and focused is the whole point See my packages here

Can we get a photo with all the cousins and aunts?

Mini sessions work best for immediate family, grandparents, and godparents. For larger extended family groups, the session loses its relaxed feel and the photographs suffer for it. I'd recommend keeping group shots to a maximum of six adults - it keeps things natural and nobody ends up looking like they're queuing.

If you need extended family coverage, get in touch and we can discuss a bespoke session

I live in North Dublin / Kildare / Wicklow. Can I still book?

Yes. While my core area is South Dublin, I regularly travel to North Dublin, Kildare, and Wicklow for communions. A travel fee applies based on distance. Get in touch and I'll confirm the cost for your location.

What if it rains on the Communion day?

We work with what we have. At home, a bright room or sheltered doorway works perfectly. At a church or park, I'll find a covered spot and we'll make it work. Irish weather is never a reason to lose good photographs. Clear umbrellas genuinely do look great in communion shots if it comes to it.
